Bent Tail Brewing Company is located in REAL gastropub. The name originates from the owner’s’ dog, Bender. He is a rescued dog and is one of eight puppies in the litter. Bender was born with a bent tail shaped like an “S”. “We wanted a name of the brewery that was near and dear to us. As we were trying to find a name, my dog Bender walked by and immediately decided to name the brewery after him”, states Terorotua, owner of REAL gastropub and Bent Tail Brewing Company.
It is expected to be operating in approximately May 2019. The system is a seven barrel (7 BBL) brewhouse, four 7 BBL and one 20 BBL fermenter, two 7 BBL and one 20 BBL brite tank, three 7 BBL and one 20 BBL uni-tank.
Tom Kerns will be the brewery’s consultant. Tom is the owner and brewmaster of Big Island Brewhaus in Waimea on the Big Island. Those in the beer industry in Hawaii, mainland and Europe recognize Tom as a master brewer with numerous awards at the Great American Beer Festival, International World Beer Cup, North American Beer Awards and U.S. Open Beer Championships.
